Symbion were commissioned to develop a compact mixed-use project along Ngong Road that will form a sub-centre to the Central Business District (CBD.) This shall reduce the daytime population within the CBD, promote Nairobi City’s vision of having a balanced economic growth and reduce traffic congestion. This sub-centre shall create an inclusive urban economy with effective and efficient transport systems, a healthy, thriving and green city with pedestrian-friendly urban spaces, improved water distribution network and storm water drainage system. The project designed by Symbion comprises a massing of coherent and organic forms working together with a network of transport and taking into account the conservation of the natural water body while at the same time achieving the key visions of the project namely; sustainability, hospitality, leisure, commercial, residential, recreation, tourism, health, education and efficient transport.
