Commercial Interiors Project

The telecommunications company Airtel Uganda, commissioned Symbion Uganda to carry out designs for the refurbishment of the Airtel Head office at Wampewo Avenue.

The brief required the rationalisation of existing office space to accommodate their growing numbers, the design of a new cafeteria and gym block. The design challenge involved enhancement of the building façade and a memorable experience for both the users and the staff.

Our design approach integrated the strong structural aesthetic of the existing building and created interactive and boldly branded corporate spaces. This was evidenced within the large new reception atrium, refined use of bright brand colour highlights, and the configuration of spaces.

Materials proposed reinforced the contemporary feel of the interiors; polished marble walls, non-slip porcelain tile floors, frameless glass to aid transparency, crisp plasterboard ceilings and MDF veneers were used.
