The East African Development Bank Head Office building located on plot 4 Nile Avenue, Kampala was built in 1967 and was renovated in 1997. In August 2011 the client commissioned Symbion to conduct a technical audit exercise following dilapidation of the building’s interior and envelope as well as the electrical, plumbing and mechanical facilities. It was also noted that the decor of the building was antiquated and required a new outlook to suit modern working environments. The aim of the refurbishments was achieving a contemporary office building that could accommodate state of the art technology and also to enhance the institute’s image. The entire project successfully achieved practical completion in February 2016 and has since been occupied by EADB and numerous tenants.
