Office Developments Project
The Client (DFCU Ltd) commissioned Symbion Uganda, in conjunction with a well-equipped consultancy team, to implement DFCU Bank’s Head Office project. The office has seven levels above ground and basement parking. Landscaped areas around and within the plot add a vibrant element to the building.
Ultimately it serves as a multifunctional building which accommodates: Customer service centres, Banking halls, Executive banking wings, Offices, lettable space, a cocktail terrace, a Women in Business centre & a stand-alone ATM block.
In line with the brief, smart building features and sustainable design principles were incorporated. The building fabric being solar reflective glass contributed to the minimization of heat gain. Solar panels installed at roof level generate an alternative power supply for the common lift lobby areas and external lights.
A rain water harvesting system was installed in the basement area to store rainwater and, recycle water for irrigation of the landscaped areas to reduce on maintenance costs. Interior design for the head office exhibits DFCU’s mission to provide stability for its clients. Therefore design factors have been based on the organisation’s vision and include; colour scheme, space planning, texture of finishes and material usage which aim at further establishing corporate identity and the organisation as a whole.
DFCU’s need to promote wellness amongst their employees is evident in the provision of a state of the art gym. The vibrantly furnished cafeteria makes use of both interior space and an outdoor terrace that opens up a view onto the street below.
